About Us

Albemarle High School is located in the county seat of Stanly County.  Nestled in the heart of Albemarle is a school with BULLDOG PRIDE!
On September 3, 1958, the warm exuberant tides of people, personalities, hopes, and dreams filled the classrooms and the halls for the first time, transforming, Albemarle High School into something more than just a building.   October 28, 1998 ground was broken to connect two wings, which allowed for additional classrooms. It also included a new library, which was the biggest in the county.
While the building has changed through the years some things have remained the same. Albemarle High School is a vital force molding the lives of the students. The spirit of earlier years still radiates through the halls of Albemarle.  AHS means more than 3 letters and a brick building. It is filled with spirit and students who find in it learning, achievement, rewards, and lasting friendships. The backbone and the heart of the school will always be the students.
